Volume 1 hooked us with humour so this one could hit us in the gut with all the feelings.

I’m loving all the side characters and getting more depth and information on the plot. The villains are also super interesting!

So, I just reread this book, and it's better than I remember it. I love seeing the young Edward in the beginning of the series! The humanity and bond between the two brothers is so enjoyable and touching. In this particular book, I do remember the stories that happened--Nina and Alexander, the face off with Scar--the parts that I remember reading and remember feeling the same way.

The second volume of Fullmetal Alchemist is a delightful surprise after a disappointing first one. Now, I'm completely hooked.

The opening chapter had me tearing up as the true consequences of alchemy are poignantly portrayed. New side characters introduced here seem to have lasting significance; I always like to see the supporting cast evolve alongside the main protagonists. Speaking of characters, we're also introduced to another villainous character in this volume, intriguingly grey compared to the others.

While the art style still retains a certain crudeness, I'm relieved that fewer dialogue boxes are cluttering the pages.

All in all, I'm genuinely looking forward to continuing the manga!
