I thought this was a fantastically useful and informative book. It's really helped me get breast feeding established and prepared me for what to expect at different stages, including when I return to work and when we start weaning. Highly recommended.

This is definitely a must-have reference for breastfeeding moms. I haven't actually read it cover to cover but am already revisiting it in preparation for baby #2.

First off, I always planned to breastfeed, so I didn't need this book to convince me. On the contrary, it gave me so much guilt and anxiety before my daughter was born, I had to put it away. Dang La Leche League is judgy! Now that my daughter is here and we've been breastfeeding about a month, I have found it to be a good reference and trouble-shooting guide. Just take their "if you don't exclusively breastfeed 2+ years, you probably don't love your child and she won't get into a good college" vibe with a grain of salt.

This is an awesome overall resource. I only wish I had checked it out earlier! I can definitely imagine going back to this in the future as we consider weaning, and even if/when I have another. Especially helpful are the tear sheets with instructions for others feeding baby, as well as the insight into weaning.

I'm exlusively pumping, not nursing but this book has good info, nonetheless. It's very reassuring to read as a new mother.

More information than you ever thought you wanted! But, very easy to read and informative.

I gave this book 4 stars even though I didn't finish it, because everything I read is definitely 4-star material.

This book was with me throughout my breastfeeding journey with my son, from those first days when I read it during middle-of-the-night feedings to the years later when the chapter on weaning suddenly became relevant. Although my breastfeeding journey is not yet done, I think I've gotten everything out of this book that I need to. The whole last section is about "special circumstances" and "troubleshooting" that this late into the game I can feel pretty confident I'm not going to use.

Still, this book's utter comprehensiveness is what makes it the best breastfeeding book out there, in my opinion. (No, I didn't read them all or even close, but if you have this one, you don't have to go much farther). Like all LLL books, it can come across a bit heavy-handed at times, but you will find a lot of comfort and affirmation here if your parenting philosophies generally align with theirs, which mine do. This is a great reference book that dips into pretty much all aspects of breastfeeding, no matter what your situation, with lots of resources to dive deeper into any issue you made need to. (It was my first LLL book, and I went on to read four more. But this is the only one you really need -- this has the relevant information, the others I just read for affirmation of my own choices.)

This is an excellent guide! It has answered any questions I've had with breastfeeding so far (my baby is now 6 weeks) and I will continue using it as a guide throughout his infancy. I think it is a guide that every breastfeeding woman should have around.
