This volume definitely piqued my interest even more than it was in vol.1.

So intrigued!

This series is just so cool so far, and SO unsettling. I feel bad for Yoshiki after learning what he has seen in this volume, I can’t imagine how traumatized he is. Also I’m so sad for OG Hikaru! He didn’t deserve what happened to him but I’m glad(?) that new Hikaru is getting the chance to learn about what it means to be alive, though that may change as we learn more. Really interested in the vision Yoshiki saw at the beginning of this volume and what it could mean, I hope there’s some answers in volume 3.

Again, where is this going… I’m lost but I’m into it.

this volume was much more 'enjoyable' than the first. no question. but! i don't think i'll be continuing the series... there simply isn't enough for me to latch on to i'm these two volumes. the art is good but not my favorite. there's just so little character growth and the crazy thing is within two volumes, apparently, six months have gone by and yet very little has happened..
i like a slow burn as much as the next person -- i actually prefer a slow burn to a chaotic/fast-paced story -- but i need answers to some of my initial questions, and i don't feel as if i got any answers at all.

Wow, a lot of revelations on this one.

Hikaru is dead and Yoshiki knew this long before everyone, which is why he asked the question on the first chapter.

Hikaru still feels conflicted by his feelings, old and new.

Yoshiki is warned what will happen if he doesn’t act on ‘taking care’ of the creature in the forest that now lives in his friend. He doesn’t know what could be the right thing to do. He loves his best friend too much, even if Hikaru is not himself anymore.

An outsider is called do 'deal' with Hikaru, by the villagers. They give more clues as to what Hikaru could be.
