While I had read shortened versions of this, the original tale of Beauty and her Beast, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and book. It was enchanting, and far different from the Disney tale. The curse makes so much more SENSE here! And I love that Beauty is not perfect, but is determined to do the best by the people who do well by her.

I can’t wait to read this again!

I really liked the first half of this book but if someone asked me what the second half was about, I would not be able to explain it. I liked the writing style and the illustrations were really well done.

I would love to say I really like the original Story as when I was younger. But I have some real issues with the story..yhe backgroundstory of yhe fairy and the beast was utterly boring and whats with the 18th century and monkeys.....the next parts I gound disturbing were incest,grooming and so on.
