I loved the pace of this novel. I feel like the back and forth time lines (a chapter in present time, a chapter in the past, etc) have become a bit cliche, but this was done so well. I saw the ending coming from a mile away, which is the only reason I knocked a star off because I think the book acted as if I should have been surprised by it. Otherwise, great writing, great characters, great story.

I liked this book for the most part. I found myself wanting to know what happened, so I was captured that way. I like the flashbacks to Kate's childhood and her friendship with Del and how it is affecting her future. I really liked the character of Opal. I honestly guessed who the killer was before they were revealed. Towards the end of the book things started to get a little odd for me and I'm not sure how I feel about the ending of the book. It was a good book overall though.
