Honestly it was a ride. The imagery, the emotion- it was perfection. I'm anxious to read the Six Crimison Cranes duology
I definitely wish I would have read this one first but even with knowing the ending it was good to get more detail on the back story. I'm excited to see how it all wraps up!
Okay, I wanted to love this one more than the other ones. Generally, I like prequel stories cause I love a good backstory. I've read the other two books and I wasn't impressed. I don't know if it was because I felt like we'd get somewhere in the plot and things would start grooving and then a small hiccup would happen and we'd sit on it. It was like ADHD but on a page and this book was no different. Like oh, we're going to this island, just kidding we run into an evil priest, ohp he's dead, now let's get back on track. I won't say I hated it, but it was an irritation where I just wanted the plot to evolve and move and we kept getting distracted by minor side quests. Anyway, Not my favorite book. I did love how it played into the Six Crimson Cranes universe and made me feel for the stepmother even more than I already did.

It was a great read and as always I cried at the end of the book 😭
I am just very sad that the ending was rushed, I wish we had a few more chapters to explain Channi’s decision.

Throwing in the towel this late in the game makes me feel like a quitter but like. Idk I'm just not connecting with the story. It's not my vibe, nothing personal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
