Not sure how seriously I can take this author after they unironically used the term "alpha male" positively. A lot of the advice is a bit sketch, and many of the anecdotes seem outrageously exaggerated. But being someone with a complete lack of social skills, my main takeaway was just to devote my full attention to people and to stop interrupting them, which has worked well, so thanks for that.
Actionable book that is exciting to take action on. I found the pieces on self-compassion and mitigating charisma decreasing mindsets (like anxiety) to be especially helpful.

Super intéressant ! À lire et relire. J’ai l’impression d’avoir déjà appris beaucoup et certaines des techniques m’aident déjà.
She's more charismatic when speaking. Watching her videos is more engaging.
Lots of great information in here but it definitely can be overwhelming if you don’t break up the information in chunks! Overall was a hard read for me but a great book.
I was pleasantly surprised by the emphasis on fixing how you feel internally before trying to "fake it." I wasn't expecting to be walked through mindfulness, but here we are. I did enjoy the exercises that are presented in the book, but I wish there were more tangible actions presented. The few that were (pause after speaking, lower intonation, make eye contact) were good, but I would prefer a deep dive. I also think this book caters especially to professionals. Which isn't a bad thing, but is of note to those using it for personal /social reasons.
Really 3 1/2 stars, I think; but I won't really be able to tell until I see if her techniques improve my work communication skills.
The tips/tricks aren't earth-shattering, but they are presented in a way that I think I can put into practice.
