Felt like Aladdin for adults. Looking forward to the next book.

I really was not invested until half way into the book. I also found the shifts between characters was a lot to remember who was who.
I know there’s a cliffhanger but I almost DNF’ed this book so I’m just gonna stick with ZA

I'm such a fan of these authors and such a fan of reimagined fairy tales, so I could not be more disappointed by this book. The writing is lazy and possibly lacking an editor? There are SO MANY paragraphs in this book that are pointless droning details. The character development is nonexistent for most of the characters, who are either too flawed for you to like or too good to be interesting. The twists at the end (which the sisters are known for) didn't even feel like they made sense and I don't think I could care less what happens next? This story had so much potential. This would be a great 'what not to do' literary study.

A Game of Malice and Greed is the first in a new fantasy series by ‘twisted sisters’ authors, Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. These authors are perhaps best known for their bestselling series Zodiac Academy. This series is set in a completely new world separate from her previous series and focuses more on fantasy elements than supernatural/urban fantasy like her other series. In this one, we have four main characters; and the story is told in multiple POV. The story itself is a dark twisted fairy tale which incorporates elements from Aladdin and Rapunzel. The story is full of the humor, magic, romance, adventure and mystery that we have come to love and expect from a twisted sisters book. I enjoyed this one and will check out the rest of the series when it releases.

There’s a long build up while the world is being built …. But it is 100% worth it. Prepare to have your heart ripped out true twisted sisters style.

This book really dragged for me, sadly. I loved the characters but felt like it didn’t completely do them justice. I will definitely read the next one and still very much feel at a loss of where it may be going, who will end up together. I need Drake to get over himself.
