I was beyond excited when I heard new series are coming from the Twisted sisters and I really thought that I'd inhale it but this book is absolute waste of reading. It's a replica of Zodiac Academy of Aladdin and Tangled retellings.
Why the authors keeps on dragging a book almost 1000 pages but in 50 chapters? Mostly inner monologues and has no actions and plot building. I dnf after first chapter and that took me more than 20 mins to finish so I don't bother reading it when I lost interest soo quickly. And I'd never read it again.

I didn’t mind this one, I liked the story and plot and all that happened and really was invested in the whole magical coin stuff. Some of the characters really let this down which I was sad about, considering I love the zodiac academy books so much.
Cass drove me up the wall, he was insufferable and I couldn’t get past that. Kyra was the best character without a doubt

2.5 stars. This book just droned on and on. So many unnecessary tangents and dialogues. If the next book is also close to 900 pages, I'm not sure I'll read it.
The last 100 or so pages are the only redemption for me. This could've easily gotten to where it ended with 400 pages.

The first 100 or so pages, I did enjoy but as the book went on, there was too much filler. A character would have a thought and that would spiral to multiple pages of nonsense.
I’m gutted because I do like the Sisters’ work but this was too much.

This book was so unfortunately slow at the beginning and the MMC was not lovable, relatable, kind, or funny in any way. Swing and a miss by the sisters.
I am a full on twisted sisters Stan, but this book is probably my least favorite of their releases so far. That’s not to say that it isn’t good, because there are definitely things I enjoyed and I’ll be reading the next book in the series for sure.
The main issue for me was definitely the pacing. Considering this is the first book in a fantasy series, this book is long (900 pages +/- on kindle) and the beginning was very slow. I felt like the first 15-20% took me forever to read because I kept getting bored with it. I ended up switching to the audiobook and that helped me get over the hump, but I didn’t truly feel invested in the book until nearly 50%.
Per usual, I love the characters these authors create. Drake and Cassius’ budding bromance was fun to watch and Kyra’s unintended chaos was hilarious. I don’t feel like we know enough about Austyn to have connected with her on the same level that we did with the other characters, but I’m hoping we get to explore her character more in the next book.
There is a cliff-hanger, but on the twisted sisters scale, it’s pretty mild.
