The ways she get across her point are excellent, but as a non-fiction book this was badly structured/edited and repetitive.
Would always recommend listening to one of her speeches though, which are featured in the book.

I 100% applaud Greta Thunberg for calling the climate crisis as it is and shaking up the world to get up and do something about it. This collection of speeches, however, is quite repetitive, hence the 3 star rating.

I liked this book. I didn't read what it was about before hand, so I was concerned for a second at how repetitive it was, but once I caught on to the fact that it was a collection of speeches, it didn't bother me. I actually enjoyed the repetition of the facts and the science. It really helped drive the point home for me, especially because I'm the uneducated people she's talking about in her speeches. Greta does a good job of pointing out how much more alarmed and active we would be if we actually knew what was happening. She challenges people not to just listen to her, but to actually do the research and read the science.
I have read quite a few reviews of this book criticizing her for not offering solutions. But at the end of the day, she's not a climate expert or a scientist. In these speeches, she's a 16 year old girl trying to make people aware, trying to make people care. I think the goal here isn't to solve the problem, but to make the people who CAN solve the problem wake up and get moving. She's doesn't want empty words from the people who can come up with solutions. She wants action.
If anything, these speeches made me much more aware of how significant this problem is and to do my own research to see how I can make a difference. I never expected this 16 year old girl to come in with all the answers for how to fix things, and if that is your expectation, you will definitely be disappointed by this book. But I would also challenge you to check your expectations.

Really informative and motivating. Slightly repetitive bit that’s not a book fault just a translation of medium thing. I love that she kept it informative but not just gruelling to listen to. For someone as young as she was at the time it’s very inspiring to hear.

Valuable message, incredible person, sobering reality. As a book this doesn't work too well as the themes and motifs in the speeches are (obviously) repeated, but the speeches taken alone are obviously incredible and very depressing.
