3.5 ‘I totally want to work at O’Leary’s’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book is definitely not one my favorites of Vi Keeland but it was still a well written book. I didn’t feel connected to Caine West or Rachel Martin. Rachel’s best friend, Ava, was really great though. I loved her. Other than that, I didn’t really care for this book all that much.
Overall Ratings:

Heroine: 3
Angst: 4.5
Steam/Sex Scenes: 4

I adore Vi Keeland. I love the way she tells a story, I love that she gives me all the feelings.

It started out strong but then it went downhill after a while. It was still a sweet story but I wanted a little less unnecessary drama. I like natural angst/drama, not drama just for the sake of making the story longer.

I didn't think Vi could make me love someone more than I loved Drew, but damn Caine. This is a close first on my favorite scale of Vi's books. This hit on a spiritual note with me. I'm a person that believes in fate. My heart broke for Rachel, but I was so happy that these two figured everything out. Also, i listen to my music in a different way because of this book.

Great angsty, swoony read. I want a Professor of my own like Professor West. The chemistry and banter between the main characters is intense, and almost coming off the page, it is that good. It was a great balance of plot to spice, and intertwining the storyline and the steamy scenes in a way that one did not overpower the other.
I loved the MMC a lot. The FMC at times started to annoy me, and I did not connect to her as much. I also am not a huge fan of the "miscommunication/keeping information that leads to a breakup" trope. I felt the twist of how they knew each other was very predictable. There was not this big "oh" twisty moment where we get the reveal. I think if I connected to the FMC more or the twist was less predictable, this would have moved it from a 4 star to a 5 star read.
However, I think the writing quality was excellent, and with having read this book a while back, it is still memorable and that is a sign of a good book to me.
