Another hit!
Absolutely loved Rachel and Caine's story, truly beautiful. A great balance of humor and wit, even with the more serious undertones. Vi is a fantastic storyteller.

Vi Keeland never disappoints! Beautiful Mistake is an amazing story of 2 people with a love of music who were just meant for each other. There were so many amazing little plot connections and touches that Vi wrote into the story! It made the book go from great to spectacular. I was a little apprehensive when the professor - grad student element was revealed, but I was thrilled to find that she did not actually over dwell on this aspect of the story. The real story lies hidden for quite some time until it sneaks up on you. I was equal parts thrilled and stunned when that amazing plot twist was revealed! I will definitely be rereading this one again!

This is definitely getting added to my favorite teacher-student relationship books list. Vi Keeland does not disappoint when writing characters that have great chemistry and the sex scenes are written with just enough description without being too much or cringy.

I wasn't sure about this book at first. I was really struggling in the beginning. Especially when Caine's only POV was from 15 years ago. It wasn't hard to figure out who exactly he was talking about, but it was frustrating because we only get Rachel's POV for a good portion of this book.
I'm not sure at what point, but the book started to get dramatically better. Maybe it was when these two finally gave in to their feelings.
Caine and Rachel really do make a good couple. She gave him grief every time he needed it, which was nice to see.

I read a bunch of Keeland’s books during quarantine. Coming back to this one now isn’t the same. Very specific formula. Brain candy.

Student/teacher storylines can either way for me, but Vi Keeland gave us a spectacular story of second chances that absolutely blew me away.
There was so much to love about Rachel and Caine. The way she told him off when they met at the bar she works at. How she broke his lateness rule after discovering she's his TA for the semester. The chemistry and connection they had. It was perfectly imperfect and made it hard not to believe that sometimes you have to believe there's a reason you go through what you do.
This couple was a great example of balance in a relationship. Despite a somewhat rocky start, Caine and Rachel balanced each other. Despite Caine being Rachel's advisor at school, they gave each other a support structure that was exactly what they needed. Each became more important than the family they supported each other in. It was amazing to follow and made you believe this kind of relationship was out there for everyone.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. I haven't found a Vi Keeland book that I haven't loved. She's a master at storytelling and creating characters that you are hard not to love. Caine is professor you're going to want to meet!
