This was a cute book. I had never read a Junie B. Jones book and it reminded me of Ramona. I think the energy and situations in the book will appeal to kids a lot.
My first grader is a big fan of Junie B. He likes Junie B's silliness and I think that the first person perspective appeals to him.
My 7 year old and I love reading these together.
Junie B. is the first one in her class to loose a tooth. It means she wins, or does it. Can Junie B really be afraid of the tooth fairy?

The text lies somewhere between easy reader and chapter book. The chapters are short and there are pictures every few pages to break it up; it was great for readaloud but the large typeface would also make it easy to read on one's own. Most of the kids enjoyed the humor. The only caveat with this book is that it does deal with the tooth fairy, so you might get some awkward questions.

Lizzie loves Junie B. Jones. The books are short enough for her, and have enough pictures.
It is too bad that the character's parents won't tell her the tooth fairy isn't real, even though she is scared of it, because the author won't risk inspiring a child to question fairy stories.

One of Junie B. Jones's top front teeth is loose! Only Junie B. is not that thrilled about this development. Because what if she looks like toothless Uncle Lou? And even worse . . . what's with all this tooth fairy business? Like, who is this woman, really? And what does she do with all those used teeth? So many questions, so little time.
