This book started off quite well, but it gradually got progressively worse. Too much drama (which is very quickly played out) and too much cheesiness for my taste.

The wreckage of us
Omg. This story. The Wreckage of Us is the story of Hazel and Ian. We meet Hazel as she tries to get a job at a ranch to support herself and her mom in hopes of getting them out of a really horrible situation— Hazel’s stepdad is a drug dealer and abuses her mom. Ian is the grandson of the owner, Big Paw, of the ranch and has to show Hazel the ropes. At first, Ian hates Hazel for reasons he incorrectly assumes regarding his past. Ian is also the lead singer of The Wreckage and the band is trying to make it big. As Hazel works to the bone at the ranch, Ian is intrigued with Hazel’s goth exterior, sad eyes, and snarky personality. Hazel is kicked out of home by her stepdad and Ian eventually comes to her rescue and offers her a place to stay. Soon the two become closer with each day. I loved reading the complexity of these two characters. There is a slight twist I didn’t see and made me love all of these characters even more. The story is heartwarming and heartbreaking at certain points but overall a wonderful journey.

enjoyed it
I don’t really have anything negative to say. This Book was a great quick read (I binged it) that hit all the marks for me. Hazel is that strong main character you always want in these books and I love that Ian refused to quit.

I honestly believe that anything Brittany Cherry writes is golden! This was such a beautiful story
2.5ish
Mixed feelings. Some parts were good, some felt rushed/quickly resolved. I still read it in one night.
Would I read again? Maybe?
