Took me a minute to like the MC but once I started to learn more about his history and struggles I was rooting for him. A great YA read for queer youth and for this Jones Generation queer.

It's got a rom-com feel, especially at the end, but overall it dealt with some pretty heavy topics in an honest, nuanced way. As a queer person who grew up loving the song, I am so glad this book exists.

The themes in this book are so freaking important. It's nice seeing a healthy representation of AMAB mental health!

A really really great complicated main character--if this book gets into the right hands it'll be a big deal. I did find the other characters in the book to be a bit thinly drawn but I still really enjoyed it.
