A very interesting look at the amazing work and life of Fred Rogers. If you are a fan of detail, this book is for you. I found the book a bit to detailed and slow moving.

Not the most well written, it needed a better editing process as it was somewhat repetitive and meandering, and prone to telling instead of showing. But I loved learning more about Fred Rogers and his life, his perspective and beliefs about child development. In spite of its flaws I enjoyed this book, and I’d recommend it to those who want to learn more about him.

I have read a couple other "biographies" about Fred Rogers, this is by far the best. A complete look at who the man was, the foundations that set the values which he lived by, the progression of the television show that made him famous, and all done while keeping his message front and center; it is about the children.
I love Mr. Rogers, but I did not love this dry, biography about him. I felt that parts of his life were dragged out to fulfill a chapter when it could have been shortened and the point still made. While, he lived an interesting life, learning piano, to breaking into TV and educating children for years, it was not exhilarating to listen to. It was also evident that while he truly cared about children and their educations, his foot in the door was because of family connections and family money. He had a life of privilege before he made his own money. I'm not saying it is wrong, but it played an integral part in his career and education.
The biography gave an accurate view of his life and goals. It did not over-exaggerate his life, or try to deliver a new message. It clearly and succinctly told his life, just as he would have told it to a child.
I would recommend listening to the book rather than reading. Even while listening, I did have difficulty keeping my mind on the book and found myself zoning out.

Wow! I learned so much about this amazing man and his family. It was kind of tricky keeping track of everything because it jumped around sometimes.
