Just when I thought Brook's life couldn't get more complicated, her ex-fiance reenters her life and wants a second chance to regain what they supposedly had.

'Walking out on you was the best thing I ever did.'

What?? How do you come back and say that to someone you had professed to love? And then there's Sasha, Brook's best friend. I love her and the depth of her friendship. She has no qualms about telling Michael what she thinks of him and what she will do to him if he hurts Brook again. She's got her best friend's back! We should all have a best friend like that.

I laughed out loud at the part where they end up at a party where half of the adults there were wearing diapers. I was not expecting this to happen in the story and it cracked me up. It is amazing the level of support those two friends have for each other.

And Brook burned bridges with the guy I thought/hoped she would end up with. Ben falls for 'Perfect Pamela'. I loved this nickname that Brook gave to Ben's new girlfriend! Haven't we all felt that way when a loved one moves on to someone else, 'they must be perfect'?

'Ben's girlfriend was the kind of woman you never, ever want the ex you still have very complicated feelings for—despite the fact that it was you who torpedoed the relationship—to date.'

I loved the first two books in this series and I loved going back to check up on Brook in book #3. One of the great things about this series is the growth and change we see in each of the characters. The books are not just the same old, same old where the characters aren't learning from their mistakes. They actually move forward with their lives and relationships change.

I can't wait for the next installment from the Breakup Doctor!

Brook Ogden is a psychologist, specialised in relationships. She's also a newspaper columnist and a radio presenter.

Two years ago, her then fiancé, Michael, broke her heart by leaving her two months before their wedding. Since then, she's bought a house and had two relationships. One of them was with Ben, a nice guy who was just right for Brook, except that she broke up with him.

Unexpectedly, Brook finds herself between a rock and a hard place emotionally wise, when Michael returns to town and makes amends and also with Ben wanting to rekindle their relationship.
What's Brook to do?

As far as women's fictions goes, this wasn't bad, but it wasn't exceptional either. I had no idea it was part of a series, but it doesn't matter as it can be read as a stand alone. The novel is a quick read, but I just didn't feel anything nor cared a great deal about anyone.

I've received this novel via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Having enjoyed the first two books in the series I was looking forward to reading this final part. I was not disappointed.

This book, for me, brings the story full circle. Throughout the series I have wanted Brook to find her happy ever after, yet it seemed to keep slipping through her fingers. In this book Brook faces her demons in the form of her ex, as well as trying to deal with the fact that Ben has moved on.

This part of the storyline begs the question 'can you ever be friends with an ex?'. It was Brooks decision to break up with Ben, but has she been too hasty?

Once again my favourite parts of the book featured the characters from the class sessions. Yet again there are some hilarious situations and dilemmas to deal with. However Brook also has a crisis much closer to home to deal with. Can she make those involved see sense, or is her family set to fall apart?

I have really enjoyed this series. Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

The 3rd book in the series and I think I like this one the best so far. I feel like there was great advice given by the Breakup Doctor that we could all take to heart in our own lives, and at the same time she could apply this to her own life - once she realized it!

There are some fun twists - the return of the fiance that dumped her, some news with Sasha and Stu and even with her parents.

This book just felt real to me...not that the others didn't, but this one more so!

great series, check it out

What a fun addition to this series!

When I read the first book (aptly called [b:The Breakup Doctor|21423843|The Breakup Doctor (The Breakup Doctor, #1)|Phoebe Fox|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1394573702s/21423843.jpg|40733606]) two years ago, I enjoyed it but found that my squeamishness due to self-inserting with the main character got in my way. Ultimately that lead me to dock the rating a bit, simply because I wanted to be honest about my enjoyment of the book.

Thankfully that was *much* less of an issue with this addition to the series, and I quite enjoyed it!

I actually haven't read the second book in this series, but in spite of that I thoroughly enjoyed this one - which means there's something to be said about the way the author has written the characters, I think. Having read the first book, however, I can tell you that there's a lot of genuine growth and development that has taken place on the part of our main characters, and I like that. I find sometimes in books it's hard to find that sort of change - so often it feels as though the author has had to force it, or that it's not quite right, doesn't fit the characters. That's not the case, here.

I think one of the biggest things I enjoyed here was the heart involved. I can empathise with these characters and what they go through. Job issues, romance, family worries, life decisions, break-ups, emotional crises... This book touches on it all, and in a way that's very real and understandable, and drew me in. We've all had bad break-ups, and we all have our worries about our friends, families, romantic entanglements and our future lives, and this series weaves those things together with the threads of true friendship, family connections and a hint of comedy, too.

The cast of supporting characters is awesome, and although you might expect a lot of sexual tension and build-up, this series relies more on conversation and the exploration of emotions - something that I find a bit unique in the flooded romance marketplace, to be honest, and something I really enjoyed.

I'm not sure whether or not this book is the last in the series, but I definitely enjoyed it and I will be keeping my eye out for future books from this author!
