DID NOT FINISH: 30%

Book feels a lot slower than the first in the series. I’m waiting forever for us to get back to how this book is connected to the first. It feels like a totally new story. I don’t care for the story so I hold off hoping to encounter Howl. It doesn’t seem to hint at his whereabouts until 30% of the way through the book and I’m feeling antsy. I’d rather read something else!

Loved the entire vibe. Be aware for a few pages there is fatpobia tho.
besides these few moments i really enjoyed reading this
i loved that howl sophie and calcifer were with us almost the entire book without knowing. they were still part of the story without taking attention away from the abdullahs story

I was SO excited when I found out that there were more books in this series. ^_^

Jones's storytelling ability is enchanting, and her matter-of-fact voice made me laugh out loud several times. Abdullah is a wonderful character, and I loved how everything tied in to the first book. I'm forcing myself to wait to read the next one, because I'm not quite ready to run out of books in the series. Such a wonderful read, I devoured it!

I didn't enjoy this sequel as much as the other one. Funnily enough, this book was released before Disney's "Aladdin". The fictional Persia vibe bugged me a little, but she does tie this place into the grater map of her fantasy world.
Sophie as a cat was cute though.
The descriptions of the magical Jinn and their home were interesting.
