#Review: *I Could Be Yours* - Helena Hunting - ARC/ALC [18+]
4.7/5✨
3/5🌶️
So grateful that I was able to read and listen to this lovely book🥰. I love these narrators and had the best time while I listened to it🤭. Many thanks to Helena and team for accepting me for these early copies🤗.
Essie and Nate were currently in a loathing relationship, after something he did when they were younger. That hurt was still affecting Essie, not making the best decisions when it came about men. But against all that, both had to be part of their friends celebration, because Rix and Tristan were getting married and they were part of the organizational team.
Serendipity made them share more time together than Essie and Nate wanted to because, can you believe it or not, their plans coincided and that meant that they would be at the same place and same period. All the time they spent together made them open their eyes and see how attracted to one another they were, even if the animosity was still very present. The constant tension threw these two in each others arms and had a funny secret romance. But could they get pass over their uncertainties and unsolved issues to explore what they had beyond those days? Nate had really strong feelings against love, because of some events from his life.
It was so much fun to follow these two sides of this story: the wedding celebration and the secret romance. On the outside everything was all joy and happiness but things weren't that pretty. Why? Because Nate was hiding so many feelings which were deeply hurting him and he tried his best to keep his siblings away from all the bad things. Essie succeeded in taming these dark thoughts of Nate and even melted his frozen heart. Even though this was a more sensitive side, the wedding celebration brought to life the joy and good vibes, especially because these events took place on a very beautiful scenery, a luxurious beach. I was super invested in the banter of Nate and Essie, being super fun and I liked the secrecy of their relationship.
I just loved the vibes of this book, being a perfect read for the summer days. It was a complex story, but it still had those good vibes of a comfy summer read. I liked that the characters had been built really well and that there wasn't any unnecessary drama. I truly recommend it, if you wanna read a summer vibes book, mixed with some fun from the wedding side and a lots of banter.

Loved the newest from fan favorite, Helena Hunting. Although marketed as a standalone, it incorporates characters from many of her past series (Toronto Terror, Tilton University, All In). If you're new to the author, you made need a road map!
Essie and Nate have been background characters is previous books, but this is where they get to shine. Essie, a makeup artist with an in-depth knowledge of the chemistry behind the product, and Nate, an engineer who loves to geek out over science, had a brief encounter in high school. But Nate panicked over a pre-university commitment and ghosted Essie. She's been holding a grudge ever since. Now that they're maid of honor/best man at an upcoming wedding, they're forced to face their feelings for one another through secret rendezvous.
I was generously granted access to both the ARC and ALCs of this title and read them in tandem. Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood are both veteran narrators and did not disappoint. It was done in duet-style (does anyone want to read one NOT in duet at this point?!?) which was quite enjoyable.

The moment I got my hands on this book, I knew I was in trouble—in the best way. Helena Hunting gave us an awesome grumpy/sunshine romance with all the juicy bits: banter that bites, chemistry that sets the pages ablaze, and two people forced to play nice as they help prepare for a wedding as best man & maid of honor.
Essie is all sunshine, pink sparkles, and bachelorette-party spreadsheets. Nate? He’s moody, mouthy, and has emotional baggage stacked higher than the wedding cake. But the man broods like a pro, and let me tell you—I ate it up.
Nate & Essie are full of deliciousness. Every time these two got together, I was giddy. They set the pages ablaze—and whew I was a puddle. 😮💨 The way they play off each other? Juicy doesn’t even begin to cover it.
The banter between Nate and the guys? Chef’s kiss. Honestly, some of my favorite moments in the book. Their bromance had me grinning—peak ride-or-die energy. And Essie and her girls? Just as fierce. Supportive, hilarious, and full-on maid-of-honor magic. The way Essie pulled out all the stops to make Rix’s big day perfect? We should all be so lucky to have a bestie like that.
And don’t even get me started on the feelings—they poured out of this book like an open bar at a wedding. Nate and Essie brought the heat and the heart, but all my favorite characters from previous books came to play and they were the best #relationshipgoals
This book is messy, heartfelt, spicy, and full of that "OMG GIVE ME MORE" energy. I laughed. I swooned. I may have even screamed at my Kindle. If you love your romance with tension, steam, and emotional wreckage wrapped in a bridal bow, I Could Be Yours needs to be on your TBR immediately.
I was lucky to do a tandem read of this book and let me tell you Teddy Hamilton doing Nate’s grumpy growl + Savannah Peachwood giving us Essie’s sunshiney sass = pure ear candy. They brought every flirt, fight, and fiery stare to life—and I couldn't get enough of it! If I wasn't feral for Nate before, let me tell you, Teddy gave me shivers!
Thank you so very much @helenahunting and @netgalley for the ebook and audio of this book!

This series is solidly good Hockey Romance, and I enjoyed this one being folk who are adjacent to rather than hockey stars. I love the found family although the cast is a lot to keep track of.
I always enjoy it when characters get the therapy they need and deal with their shit so they’re better people together.
I’m more excited for the next book but Dred is my favourite and I’ve been wanting her to have a book from the start.

Each one of these books adds a fun to layer and depth to the universe Hunting has created. I love seeing how characters continue to grow while giving you someone new to love.
And I love Nate and Essie. The bickering turned can't-keep-my-hands-to-myself brings the heat is everything I was hoping to get from these two.

This second-chance romance was so fun and sweet and warmed my heart!
Nate and Essie were such loyal and supportive characters. I loved how they fit together and how their relationship was built.
This is a feel-good read that made me smile so hard!
