Sparks, snark, and second chances!
They shared one unforgettable kiss six years ago, then he ghosted her. Now, they're stuck in a wedding party together, doing their best to play nice for her best friend and his brother.
This grumpy x sunshine duo had such fun, fiery chemistry that I couldn't get enough. The banter crackled, the tension sizzled, and Nate's emotional backstory absolutely wrecked my heart while watching it all unfold.
A swoony, second chance romance packed with witty dialogue, heart-tugging moments, and standout side characters. I'll definitely be diving into Chase Lovett Want Me next, but this one absolutely works as a standalone!

If you have read this series from the start you know Nate and Essie have been circling each other, but it was hard to know what their dynamic was. Well Helena did not hold back with them!
I loved how Essie knew what she wanted and was not goi by to settle. She is such a great friend to Rix and the group. She seems to put everyone first but not in a bad way. She is selfless and knows they are there for her too.
Nate⦠letās just say his past definitely shaped him. He has obstacles to overcome and boy does he!
I loved these two so much and seeing how the whole gang is there too was perfection!

Nate and Essie shared a kiss years ago... And then he ghosted her. Now, they're forced to work with each other for their friends wedding. She's hilarious. Throws out shade and is just irresistible.
These two are competitive and are trying to one up each other for the pre-wedding activities.
You get members of the Toronto Terror series here but this isn't part of the hockey series. Not really a spin off and can be read as a stand alone.
Usual humor from Helena Hunting, along with the spice, and fun.

I Could Be Yours by Helena Hunting is a dazzling, emotional & heartwarming spicy romance when the best man & maid of honor of their best friendās wedding are at ends with each other. The buildup to the wedding, the planning & constant events provide ample forced proximity for these opposites to get to know each other (again) & see that maybe their stories & their hearts just might be linked together.
I Could Be Yours is an epic romance based off side characters from the Toronto Terror series. It can easily be read as a standalone, but itās also really fun if you know the characters, the friends, family, team & their world, so I do recommend that whole series also!

I was fortunate enough to listen to the audiobook of this & the narrators were absolute fire. They brought this story to life & it was just pure joy listening to them.
There are so many characters from this world that I want to see have their own stories. I am like a kid at Christmas levels of excited to keep reading from this author & their incredible work.
If you are looking for a fairytale ending that perfectly balances real world emotions, undeniable chemistry & off the charts spice, I highly recommend I Could Be Yours.
Massive thanks to the author, NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for the gifted copy, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

I Could Be Yours by Helena Hunting
Can a starry eyed believer in fairytale love and a grumpy guy with trust and abandonment issues find a way to overcome a past āghostingā to find their happily ever after?
What I liked:
* Essie Lovelock: influencer, organized, brilliant, good friend, makeup artist on sets, kind, caring, maid of honor that wants everything to be perfect for Beatrix
* Nathan Stiles: engineer, designer of ice skate blade, brother, good friend, abandonment issues, protective, intelligent, guarded, best man for Tristan, his brother
* The back story of Nate ghosting Essie after a HS graduation kiss that impressed both of them
* The reference to characters from the Toronto Terrors hockey series by this author and a number of characters I hope will have books of their own
* The opposites attract, grumpy-sunshine, second chance romance tropes handled well in the story
* The chemistry between Essie and Nate even though communication and sharing of feelings wasnāt easy for them
* Essieās big heart and willingness to be there for Nate when he needed her
* Wondering if Nateās mother will show up later if Brody, younger brother, gets a book of his own
* The strong supportive friendships both characters had
* That both Nateās and Essieās family were there for them
* The competitiveness of Nate & Essie in the planning and preparation for the wedding of his brother to her best Friend
* The growth Nate made in dealing with his issues and the impact it had on his relationship with Essie
* All of it really exceptā¦
What I didnāt like:
* Nateās mother who abandoned her husband and her three sons causing long term emotional damage
* The pain Nate and his family experienced as a result of their abandonment and the impact it had on them
* Having to wait for the next book

If you are going on vacation and canāt decide what to take with you, take this one!
This book had me smiling, laughing, and completely hooked from start to finish! Nate and Essieās had chemistry that I couldnāt get enough of. Their banter was addictive, their tension is perfection, and when it finally snaps⦠whew, one of the best āfinallyā moments Iāve read in a while. It was perfection.
Essie is sunshine in heels. She is obsessed with pink, fairytales, and being the worldās most organized maid of honor. She is exactly what you want in a MOH. Nate Stiles is all logic and order, broody as ever, and unfortunately - for Essie - , the best man. Ohāand the guy who ghosted her after one unforgettable kiss six years ago. Which is where their story started and ended just as fast.
Now forced together through wedding chaos, salsa lessons, and bachelorette planning, the friction between them turns into fire. And I donāt just mean the fighting ;). The slow-burn tension builds beautifully, and watching Nate open up hit me right in the heart. I felt bad for his story and hurt for him.
Essieās spark is the perfect match for Nateās intellect. She doesnāt just tolerate his passionsāsheās genuinely fascinated. Their connection was pure magic. It was so endearing watching him realize someone finally cared about what he had to say. Didnāt fake enjoying hearing what he does for a living.
I adored their competitive streaks and the way they constantly challenged each other. Every time they bickered, I grinned. Their group of friends added the perfect fun energy to balance the emotional beats.
Thank you Helena for an eARC and ALC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I love HH's books but this one needed more editing, in my opinion. Too many similar conversations and dialogue moments which made me feel like I was losing the plot or my place in the book. The concept and characters were good but I feel as though this specific book wasn't done "cooking" yet.
