This was a heartwarming sunshine/grump romance. Nate was so broken but needing love while Essie had so much love to give. Essie had wasted her love on the wrong people so many times making her scared to trust the connection she shared with Nate. Love the emotional growth in this story.

No one does secret relationships like Helena Hunting. We have a whole series of people who shouldn’t be together, are faking it until they make it, and just generally hiding the sexy, shady things that they do and I eat up every single one. I Could Be Yours was no different. Beatrix and Tristian (If You Hate Me) are back and getting hitched, assisted by Tristian’s little brother Nate and Trix’s best friend Essie. This highly competitive, grumpy/sunshine pairing was just about perfect. I adored Essie, as a very pink, fairytale type of girl, it was nice to see someone so unabashedly feminine and comfortable with it. The cutes were cuting, the spice was spicing, and I am practically feral for the next two books in this series. I cannot wait to see what comes next.
Thank you Helena for the ARC copy!

Love this series. Essie & Nate

I've been waiting for Nate and Essie's story, we've seen hints at something between them in other books.

Helena Hunting's books always have me laughing.

This was a great grumpy/sunshine, second chance, found family romance.

I love that we got to see Rix and Tristan's wedding.  Some of the problems that happened there are funny and some are kind of unbelievable.

I'm really looking forward to Dred and Connor's book.  There were enough little teases that have me excited for it.

I received an early copy and am providing and honest review.

If you love a broody hero with walls a mile high and a sunshine heroine who lights up every page—𝘐 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘉𝘦 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴 will ruin you (in the best way). Nate Stiles is the ultimate grump: a science nerd with a tragic backstory and a severe aversion to love. Essie Lovelock? A former fairytale addict turned fabulous maid of honor, determined to keep things professional… even though Nate ghosted her six years ago after one perfect kiss. Now forced into wedding duty together, the tension simmers and the banter SPARKS. The chemistry between Nate and Essie is fire. Their dynamic blends sharp wit, emotional vulnerability, and the kind of slow burn that makes you scream, “JUST TELL HER YOU LIKE HER ALREADY.” Helena Hunting writes the heck out of this grumpy/sunshine pairing, and when Nate finally lets his walls crack? 🥵 Worth. Every. Page. The Toronto Terror cameos gave me all the cozy found family feels, and the wedding party chaos kept me grinning. Hello, salsa lessons & bachelor/bachelorette shenanigans! Plus, Nate being a hot nerd with science talk AND emotional growth? Oh, boy. Swoon time. Read this, my friends! You won’t be disappointed.

Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton nailed it. Their duet narration turned the banter electric and the spicy scenes into full-body experiences. Yes, headphones are recommended.

This has two things I love in a book. A summer holiday romance and a very very grumpy MMC

This was such a fun listen! The story is so good on it's own, but when you add in the cameos from so so many of Helena's previous couples, you can't help but be giddy after listening to this! Nate and Essie. And their messy secret history. Add in that her best friend is marrying his brother, and it gets even more complicated. All of those Maid of Honor and Best Man duties make spending time together a necessity for the two of them. Their off-the-charts chemistry is bound to break through at some point, right? Wedding planning, a dress fitting, a couples shower, a Vegas trip, and all of the other little nights in between are a big part of the inevitability of these to crashing into each other. The only question is, will it be a mess or will they find exactly what they didn't think they'd ever find, in the last place they expected it? Just do yourself a favor and start listening to this wonderfully spicy romance as soon as you can!
