It's starts off confusing and almost to slow for me. It's solid enough for a sci-fi I guess. The next book in the series is coming out soon so I guess we will see if I pick it up

Got to page 250 when I realized I didn't really care about any of the characters so I started to skim. Mystery was okay. Start of the book was confusing, didn't understand enough of the terminology, but I figured it out before too long.

Crime dramedy, "threeps" (robots) and a whodunit in a book that was just fun and exciting and a fast read.
Once again - such an intriguing future world he's created, with a complex crime plot, great characters and interaction/dialogue between them.
I just love Scalzi!

Yet another entertaining yarn by Scalzi. People run hot/cold with him...or they just have oddly placed opinions about the man and his oeuvre. Dialogue heavy and quick as all get out. The book is rife with Scalzi adept handling of pacing. This book is as close to a procedural as I've seen him write. It some what works for him. It is odd that a book who central premise deals with folks who are forced to be interior--there isn't a lot of that interior work being shown. Sure we get some visual descriptions...but little in actual processing. Just a quibble.
Still damned fun though.
