It’s me!! I’m the problem…it’s me. If you enjoy Historical Fiction in general, you will love this… if you love Louise Erdrich you will love this book (the obvious comparison) but if you love books by Katie Quinn or history books like hers, you will love this book. I am out of my historical fiction era apparently. There was thrilling aspects to this story, but the history of the Sámi people, the indigenous people who live near the Arctic circle, was heavily detailed through out. Such an important read. I had a hard time paying attention to those important details, which has been happening frequently lately, not sure what’s going on. However…. I will be watching this Netflix adaptation of this coming soon!
