Very quick read. 20-30 minutes cover to cover. This book is more of a poem on philosophy of life using archery as a metaphor. A nice read, but not a narrative like The Alchemist.

llena de sabiduría como siempre. una conexión especial ya que este semestre tome clases de arco y flecha. metáforas que se aplican a la vida cotidiana, en lo pequeño y en lo grande.
Plain and simple read. This is the type of book that could attract new people to reading, or could be read over and over again. The Archer is a series of life lessons that are told through the voice of a master archer giving instructions to a young boy on the steps to mastering archery. You can apply the words on these pages to almost any skill that you wish to master.
Because I’ve seen negative reviews: For a lover of art and inspiration like myself, this book felt extremely creative and brave. Outside the box of a normal book and slightly different than Coelho’s other work, The Archer still has the writer’s style of sending moral messages through a story. What many reviewers here see as negative traits, I see as creative. A short story by a world-renowned author made into a book with original art by a world-renowned artist? Yes please! This is the type of forward thinking that books and art need in the new century. If there was an author whom had collaborated with illustrations by Picasso, for example, we’d cherish that book and reprint it until this day. I think this is genius and Coelho’s on to something here. The naysayers aren’t remembering to think outside the box, if you ask me.
To me it’s okay for characters to only have one arc, one message, one tale, one adventure in a story. I think we have all been spoiled with vast stories with deep twisted plots that cross genres. Also, I think we have began to resent motivational talk and see it as pretentious and cheesy. Remember that there are always young people in this world. So everything you already know, life & life’s lessons are all new to them. This book is perfect for that purpose also. I thoroughly enjoyed the to-the-point style of The Archer. I’d recommend for a quick read or for motivation to work on your hobbies.

I beg you do not waste your time. I had heard good things about this author so this was a heavy disappointment. It was so dry and transparent and monotone.
