I loved this book. Both tragic and victorious in the end, I was completely hooked and rooting for our heroine.

The meat of the story, taking place during WW2, was heartbreaking. Losing not just entire families—but literally everyone. I haven’t read much about the work of the Jewish resistance during Nazi occupation, so I was glad to learn more about the bravery of so many of these characters, and the lengths they went to in order to smuggle goods, infiltrate the enemy, and survive.

But even more than that, I loved the twist toward the end. The after, during the years of fame. Another great read by Barr!

Always love reading about and learning more about WW2. I listened to this on Audible. It was SO GOOD!
Beana was just an amazing woman who survived so many crazy things. And I really enjoyed that we got to know her after the war as well!!
Highly recommend!!!

Alternating timeline chapters in this book. Set between Warsaw, Poland in the 1940s and Los Angeles in 2005, The Goddess of Warsaw is the story of Lena, a decades-long famous actress, who was once known as Bina, a young woman who took part in the Warsaw uprising against the Nazis. She’s a femme fatale, brilliant, cunning, and a survivor.

There was so much action in this book. The Goddess of Warsaw is dramatic, and there is never a dull moment. The ending was incredible. I've read many WW2 novels - this was different from others, but still disturbing and sad throughout but with moments of big victory and "hell yes" moments cheering for the heroine.

This was hard to read, but I did enjoy it. Thx u to the author for hitting on such a hard topic.

Very dramatic and unrealistic. The whole listing after her brother-in-law is off putting and not essential to the storyline. The story is so dark that I had to quit after getting through about 1/4 of the book

🎧Beautifully written, hard to read, a story that needed to be told because I am sure there is so much more truth to it then we can ever understand
