Rounding up 4.5 stars. Really engrossed story. Different from other Holocaust books I’ve read although it did remind me of The Only Woman in the Room.

Based on real events of the Warsaw uprising, this book captures the agony, the sacrifices, the bonds and the aftermath of one of the most tragic times in history. I’ve been avoiding WWII books because of recent events and, although this was a heavy read, the narration and storyline were captivating.

Really well done, I liked the structure and plot was addicting. Bina is a badass and I liked how things resolved with Lukas. Also loved reunion with Aleksander.
