Menudo viaje!!

This was an interesting read. It was weird if anything, but truly depicts some of the children I see on a day to day basis. Unfortunately a lot of parents don’t have the resources that Hannah received and the situation ends up being worse.

The first quarter of the book felt slow, but it really started to pick up in the middle, and the ending was… a mixed bag? Mostly good!
The whole book was basically a mother vs daughter scenario, and I really liked how the author wrote Hanna’s dialogue a majority of the time. You could also really grasp Suzette’s heart-wrenching feelings, being at war with the kid who’s supposed to love her. It really takes into perspective how parents strive to be perfect and constantly compare themselves to other “more perfect” caregivers, when everyone is really just figuring it out. The flow of the plot also felt very natural based on the chain of events happening!

Characters were infuriating, creepy, and 1000% sus. Great horror aspects, just wish the plot actually *lead* to something. Cliffhanger warning*

What a wild ride.
This story really isn't about some creepy kid being creepy for the sake of it, but it follows a mother and daughter who are both mentally ill.
A woman fighting with the guilt of no longer enjoying motherhood, while a girl tries to "save daddy" from her "evil witch" mother's love magic. Despite its "evil witch" mentioning, I don't see this as a horror at all. Yet, it was still a good read that left me speechless at every chapter.

Holy wow! I could NOT put this down! This gut-wrenching, stab in the eye observation of a toxic mother/daughter relationship is addictive to read! In the end, it goes exactly how you think it will and it's SO SATISFYING!
