I cried it literally broke my heart then pulled it back together
it’s actually been 45 years since i didn’t sleep so i could read i have the spirit of a grandma nothing gets in the way of me and sleep i go to bed at 9pm. (i did go to sleep at 9pm but i woke up at 4am and started reading and couldn’t stop) this made me remember how much i love angsty ass books. while i was very entertained and really rooting for them it felt very repetitive which annoyed me a little. and also a woman is never wrong so the fmc messing up felt wrong in my bones it should always be men groveling. this book was honestly painful but good. i forgot what it felt like to root for a couple so hard i need to start reading slow burns again. idk i’m having mixed feelings about this book but i did read that in like 4 seconds so i was definitely entertained.

Zane and Celeste story was a bit difficult to get through simply for the fact I wanted to thump them both upside the head. While they both had legitimate trauma and distrust to work through and bad behaviors to unlearn, the love they felt was worth it. The pain they caused their families and friends was heartbreaking and the journey to forgiveness was hard fought and deservedly won. I couldn't put it down.

I have to say, this is the first time where I ACTUALLY thought the couple shouldn’t end up together. Too much had happened between them and I do think it isn’t the kind of thing they can leave in the past.
The first book I read of Catharina was The Wrong Bride. She got me roped in with the Windsors. i then started to read her other books and loved them.
I really loved Ares and Ravens story then I read Luca and Val’s story in Temporary Wife and loved that one even more. They are my favorite in the series. Dion and Fayes story was great and loved their angst and love story. Going into Zane and Celeste’s story in this one had me excited because I loved the others sooo much. Even though this one ended with a happy ending I felt it wasn’t her best in this series. It dragged a little and it was almost too much heartbreak for them to recover. I’m glad they did but they both damaged each other. This one is my least favorite in the series.
I’m hoping that Lex’s story is fun and lighthearted with all the angst. I’ve been waiting on his since Ares book.
