half the book i wanted to molly wop jupiter and the other half i wanted to molly wop marine, but out of love
this was a second chance, baseball romance that had me hooked from the beginning and i ate it up

Jupiter and Marnie
Second chance, forced proximity, baseball player/rocket scientist.
I did like the book, it had some really cute, sweet, and funny moments. I also have several critiques…
These two dated for less than SIX MONTHS in high school and were so in love that’s the basis for the whole book? I love a second chance romance but they hardly even had a first chance romance.
A lot of it seemed like it was overly detailed and too long. But it picked up and I was more invested during the last 1/4.
I don’t know much about Lulu Moore but I would bet she’s British because there’s a lot of things that Americans would phrase differently. Also these names are absolutely absurd, Jupiter, Beulah, Lowe, Bryony!?
He’s slept with “hundreds of women” and the first time they have sex as adults, doesn’t use a condom OR discuss test results or birth control. The spicy scenes were hot, there’s not a ton of them, maybe 5? 2.5🔥
What did the back of her shirt say?
So, he breaks up with her in high school to make sure that she follows her dreams of going to MIT and working at NASA, only to manipulated her out of said dream job at NASA 14 years later. 🤔 why wait 14 years for that?

4.5 ⭐️’s!!!
Flashbacks are hit or miss for me but with this it was a definite hit! I also realized how little I read second chance romance. I quite enjoyed this!

The book didn’t beat around the bush in the present day. No waiting or slow burn just straight into it and I loved that. The flashbacks slowed it down where it needed and it didn’t need anything extra to slow.

Marnie is such a great character I wanted to be her when I was younger as in the space nerd but I still want to be her even now as a wannabe WAG! Am I right? I’m right.

Jupiter. My favorite planet and now my favorite baseball player. Get your ass over here, I will be adding you to my collection of book boyfriends THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

By the time I closed this book, my heart was just so very happy.

Marnie and Jupiter’s story, in a nutshell is: high school sweethearts ➡️ the biggest heartbreak ➡️ the best second chance love story.

This book was angsty and sweet and infuriating and spicy (the all-consuming, intense spicy I absolutely love!) and just perfect.

Are these characters perfect? No. Do they always make the best decisions? No. But that’s why I think these two characters resonated with me so much.

This book is dual POV and has regular flashbacks to show the start of Marnie and Jupiter’s love in high school (about 14 years prior). The absolute adoration and lust and love these two had for each other was the sweetest. And seeing how that translates 14 years later? Even better.

This book was fine. There were some moments that I really liked - nerding out over the stars was one - but for the most part this was a little underwhelming. And I actually preferred the chapters set in the past because it really showed Jupiter and Marnie falling in love. In the present it felt more like Jupiter would just decide how something was gonna go and that's that. It didn't necessarily work for me all the time but other people might be just fine with it.
