This book is a lot of fun and the first person narration has no gender defined which makes it up to the reader which I thought was a neat technique to see what various readers think.

Finding good work during a pandemic can be hard, so when an old friend recommends you for a secretive animal rights group, Jamie is game. He ends up in Jurassic Park / almost Pacific Rim situation in the frozen north. All your anti-capitalist, kaiju friendly needs are met in this fast-paced ending once Scalzi sets it up.

Yet another John Scalzi book that I read from cover to cover in a single day. As he calls it, a great “pop song” book, in the best way. Oozing with Scalziness, this was such a fun read. A great distraction from all the horrible things going on in the world right now.
