DID NOT FINISH

So sloooow

4 stars. Prequel to the Fable series and it was awesome. This series seriously gets better and better with each book and I hope that Young plans on writing more in the future. I could stay in this world for as long as possible.

The writing was great and I think that Young grows more as a writer with each release and I love the way she tells a story. I was gripped by this book right from the beginning and I thought this was a really awesome adventure. I loved the characters. Saint is all mysterious and broody and I thought Isolde was a bad ass. I liked their relationship and how it played out. They had great chemistry. I also liked some of the side characters as well. This was an action packed adventure with a side of romance. Loved it and I cannot wait for more.

Adrienne Young is simply the best writer of our generation. Her writing is BEYOND beautiful. Saint is even better than the Fable series, if that’s even possible. I hope she continues to write more in this world!!

3.5! genuinely devastated to be leaving the narrows- this is such a beautifully written world. i definitely enjoyed the other books better, but i think it’s because the stakes were higher in the other books. this one felt more akin to the novellas in this series rather than a full blown prequel. i wish the villains were bigger if that makes sense? however, i loved all the easter eggs from the main duology!! seeing how everyone was connected was so cool, and you can tell adrienne young had a fun time adding all the little hints throughout!

This is the prequel I needed. *Chefs kiss.* I felt like this story gave me the closure I was looking for in book 3 of The Narrows series and didn’t get. The first book was amazing the second was pretty good but the 3rd just really didn’t do anything for me. But this book…Saint was such a mysterious character that I LOVED getting to see how he got to where he was. I could honestly even read more about saint and his journey because his character was just so good. When certain tidbits of info were revealed I was internally screaming. I personally wouldn’t read it first because I feel like it would give away more info than you should have while reading the rest of the series but definitely go back and read this one because it is so worth it! You can honestly just not read the 3rd one in my opinion. It follows different characters and I felt like it honestly took away from the story a little bit and didn’t add value but books 0-2 are such a fun journey and I highly recommend!
