Idk if it’s because I watched this before I read it, but like, it felt kinda boring. I couldn’t focus on it. I mostly just ended up reading it because I had already watched the show they made of it on Netflix.

3.5⭐
The book was very VERY different to the Netflix series. The storyline was the same (Jackie's parents and sister passed away in a car crash and all of a sudden, Jackie's life changed and she had to move to Colorado, from New York, to live with the Walter family on a ranch) but the events that happen in the book are very different. Most of the things that Alex did in the series, Cole does in the book, which, for me, changed my whole perspective on the love triangle between Cole, Jackie, and Alex.
However, I still liked the book and it was still a very good, easy read. But, the series and the book just feel like 2 different things altogether. And, my love for the book and the series will remain 2 separate loves.
If you enjoyed the Netflix series and don't want your love for that POSSIBLY ruined, then you might not want to pick up this book.
I prefer the Netflix series over the book.

A decent read! I have to admit I read this after watching the series. I think the series added more depth and explored loose ends that this story was missing. But I appreciate the author capturing the true vulgar, playful nature of teenage banter and the true shock and healing process of grief.
