My Life with the Walter Boys by Ali Novik follows the story of Jackie after moving to Colorado from NYC after losing her family in a tragic accident.
I felt this story was cute, light, and fluffy. I cover a love triangle, grief, and new beginnings. I feel like the story is straightforward. I really enjoy all the characters a lot. I enjoy no only seeing growth in our main characters but the said one as well. This was such a good palate cleanser and made me feel good while reading. I will be watching the show because I would love to see how they adapted the story.

Pre read hoping I could read this with my daughter and watch the show. (How did this get a show?)
I kept thinking this could get better or it would’ve been a DNF. It was messy, characters were not developed, easy to figure out what was going to happen and the plot could have been so much better getting to the same point. Definitely wouldn’t recommend. Better “coming of age” stories to read. I didn’t like the romanticism of red flags in some of the “Walter boys” or the sexual harassment the main character faced throughout the story.
