I enjoyed it but i didn’t love it, lacked in some areas and i just don’t love alex and jackie im a cole and jackie believer. And Alex pmo. Cole and jackie should be endgame.
slow-paced
This book is really good, and I can't wait for the author to write and release the next book in the series because it left on a cliffhanger
My Life with the Walter Boys" promised an intriguing narrative about a girl navigating life with a large family of boys after the tragic loss of her own. However, what unfolded was a tale filled with unsettling behaviors and shallow characters that left me deeply unsatisfied.
From the outset, the boys' actions struck me as disturbingly invasive and lacking any semblance of respect for boundaries. The incident with Jackie's towel being stolen for the purpose of recording her in the bathroom epitomized the creepy and uncomfortable atmosphere that pervaded the story. Rather than endearing themselves to the reader, the boys came across as invasive and devoid of any redeeming qualities.
Character development was sorely lacking, with the protagonists feeling like mere caricatures rather than fully realized individuals. Jackie, the supposed protagonist, failed to exhibit any meaningful depth or personality traits beyond her interactions with the boys. Her decision-making throughout the narrative often defied logic, such as her inexplicable capitulation to Cole's domineering insistence that she attend a party she had every reason to avoid.
The portrayal of relationships within the story left much to be desired. Instead of showcasing healthy dynamics built on mutual respect and understanding, interactions between characters were marred by manipulation and coercion. Jackie's acquiescence to Cole's demands felt more like a disconcerting surrender of agency than a genuine romantic development.
2/5 stars because the writing style wasn't so bad. The show was okay though.

2.5 stars—I was seeing a lot of buzz for this series because of The Summer I Turned Pretty, so I was expecting it to be somewhat similar or at least a higher quality young adult series. I felt the characters and plot were too underdeveloped, and the dialogue was too basic.
