It was a cute read but definitely too young for me. I just read it because of the show. It was cute for a pre teen romance.
I could not put this book down! If you have watched the show the book is similar but different! There are many parts in the book that are not even in the show! I would recommend reading the book if you want to go deeper into the story! Once you start reading you won’t be able to put the book down until you’re done!

A YA blast from the past! I watched the show recently and wanted to reread the book I loved so much as a pre-teen.
It was just as charming as I remember! I’m forever team Alex, but I guess I’ll get over it one day.

3.5 stars. I stayed up super late and read most of this book in one sitting. Cute story, I was definitely on Team Cole.
I read this book a long time ago and remember liking it, reading it again now I started noticing A LOT of problems.
First of all, it’s a very close plot line to Megan Meade’s Guide to the McGowan Boys, am i right???! Or is that just me?
Second of all, I found the characters were set up in the beginning to be a certain (particular) way and then all throughout the rest of the book they didn’t follow any of those ways.
I didn’t like how all the girl characters friendships were based on talking boys and nothing else. That doesn’t happen in real life. They all think Cole is swoon worthy “just because”. There was no reason and they kept saying that. There’s no depth to the relationships, it’s all surface level and develops out of thin air.
ALSO, why is she not bothered by the man whore?
Everyone including her, keeps brushing it aside and thinking she could change him. STOP WRITING BOOKS AND TELLING GIRLS THEY CAN CHANGE THE GUY.
If you can get past all my picky reading and just want a simple book to read fast, this will be a better experience for you than mine.
