I don't know what to rate this book so I'll give it a 3 star for now. Some parts I really loved and some parts I really disliked. Need to sit on this one for a while!

Very fast-paced read. Got really immersed in the world and the conflict. Sometimes it was almost too fast-paced which hindered the characterization. The enemies to lovers felt so random and mainly just used as a plot device, and that’s what this book is: mainly plot-based over character-based, but I loved the plot and ate it up. Love a good adventure quest book. There was some really beautiful writing in here too.

This was typical YA fantasy for me. It was okay, not anything I’m going to rave about. The characters were interesting enough that I want to continue the series, but there’s still one book not published yet. So, I’ll probably wait until all the titles are out to continue.
