The Prince of Prohibition follows Adeline Colton as she moves from Georgia to New York and gets tangled up with Jack Warren: a bootlegger, gangster, and millionaire. These two had so much chemistry and I could practically feel the tension between them. By the midpoint of this book I was practically begging them to kiss. Despite this book having the fated mates trope it was surprisingly slow burn which just made it even better. The magic in this book was super cool and I loved all the different creatures in this book it made the story even more unique.

I don’t want to say too much about this book because all of the twists and turns were really what made me give it five stars but seriously if you love fantasy go read this book because it’s possibly one of my new favorite fantasy romances. I can’t wait for the second book in the series!

in the beginning it was reminding me a bit too much of acotar, but after that it really got good
it was a fun read, and i can’t wait to see how addie evolves

I just could not connect with this story. I really wanted to, I liked the idea of 1920s and the fae world being mixed together.

I loved Jack, he was an awesome MMC. Addie, however, was just kind of ughhh, I couldn't connect with her. The rest of the characters were great. I loved Violet (Jack's twin) literally telling Addie to grow the f*ck up! I understand she grew up sheltered and all of that, but she could not do anything for herself. She did slowly start to get better but her whole world is centered around someone telling her what to do.

I didn't actually get into this book until the last 20%. Then it got rather interesting, I am not 100% sure why some stuff happened. I am assuming it will be explained later, it also ends on a cliffhanger and that did pique my interest enough to check out the next book.

I was gripped into the story from chapter 1. I enjoyed everything about this book, I have no complaints. Only that I have to wait until November for book 2. Fae in 1926 made for such a great story. Every time I thought I had the plot figured out, I was thrown a new curve. And the epilogue, OMG! What a twist! The major part of what I loved about this book is Addie's character development and growth. I loved reading about her getting stronger and becoming herself. Jack, OMG, Jack! If you want to know, read the whole book and then to epilogue, and then you will know. I seriously can't wait for the second book.

Thank you, Marilyn, for an ARC copy. I thoroughly enjoyed your book.

This is the kind of book I didn’t know I needed in my life. Guys, this book was so good! It is truly not an embellishment that this story is coined an ACOTAR meets The Great Gatsby tale. Like, picture if Mist & Fury took place in the 1920’s. That is this story. And I loved every second of it. We meet our FMC Adeline, living in a poor, small town in Georgia. Her whole life she’s been told she was crazy because of the magical creatures only she can see living in the woods. After a whirlwind of events Adeline has to move to New York, where she is pulled into the shocking world of glamorous parties and bootlegging. Adeline eventually finds herself questioning her sanity as she soon discovers that the creatures who lived in the woods, walk amongst people in the big city.

I want to start by prefacing that Marilyn Marks is such a creative writer! The storytelling and imagery made me feel like I was right there. With that being said, I LOVED the characters. Our “inner circle” per se, were seriously just the best. I loved that our important side characters all each got there moment of spotlight and it truly made you relate and care for these characters all the more. Our main characters however, omg. Adeline is such a strong person. She goes through so much and instead of sliding into old habits of depression, she inevitably chooses to fight for a life she never thought would be possible for her. And then we have Jack (swoon). My new book boyfriend for sure. In both actions and words, this man has the capability of making you want cry and blush in the spance of a chapter. He isn’t the knight in shining armor type, no not at all. He is the guy who tells his girl “I know you can save yourself”. Jack is Adeline’s biggest supporter and I cannot get over how obsessed he is with her. In pure enemies to lovers style (definitely one-sided), these two are just meant to be. The slow but so sweet of burns will have you melting. I really still cannot get over their story.

I’m ecstatic to learn that this will be a series because I CANNOT say goodbye to these characters yet, and I can genuinely say I actually did not see the twist at the end coming! So, to wrap this up, if you have a thing for flappers and fae, or magic and moonshine, this is most definitely the book for you
