This book does an excellent job of building a world around you as your eyes quickly scan pages. Filled with magic, badass demon fighters and unlikely romances, it’s surely a page turner from behind g to end chocked FULL of surprises at every turn. This series truly gave life to my reading adventure.

The world building in this series is fantastic, but the tropes in these books are... questionable. Personally I did not like them, and you'll know what I mean when you've read the series. Binge-worthy. I read this series in the order they are in, but this is apparently not recommended, as there are other novels and series Clare has written that fit better in between some books. Happy reading!
i read this a long time ago, i barely remember my impression on each book so i'd have to settle with organizing/cataloguing this book as a bundle. maybe one day if i decided to go back and re-read this whole series i'll write a better review/impression of each book.

This is one of those series I really enjoyed to begin with but never managed to make it all the way to the end. In truth, such knowledge disappoints me as I would have liked to know how it played out but my interest had waned and I’d moved on to other things.
Still, it was an interesting creation and when I was working my way through the books I was thoroughly enjoying them.
Certainly worth a look, if nothing else.

I read the books 1 to 4 as a teenager and I loved them back then. I even started watching the TV series later on but that didnt help and I just got more critical of YA books in general. So, now I don't like these books so much anymore. (I didn't like the TV series from the beginning.)
As the book series continued I stopped reading at one point (after the 4th book) and never picked it up again because even as a teenager who liked the initial storyline I grew tired of it. Which is saying a lot.

i have always heard about the shadowhunter world and even watched a few episodes of the show but it didn't prepare me for the delightful thing i got while reading this series.
i am sure a lot of people have read this book but since i just read it, it is kind of fresh in my memory and i cant wait to the read the other books by this author that would keep me in this shadowhunter world.
