To sum up this book, "Mafia princess" Annika Volkov is not supposed to pursue or be with Creighton King, yet she does so anyway. Initially, he can't stand her, but she is persistent and they enter a sexual relationship. Creigh is very controlling, which seems to be the theme for men in this series, and Annika apparently loves it. Her family finds out of their relationship and shit hits the fan.

There were a handful of sweet moments between these two, such as Creigh telling Annika he would rather die then be without her and him standing up to his family. However, I felt like I was re-reading God of Malice, with some details changed.

On the surface level, yes, I love Creighton and Annika. However—their story was difficult. I understood their connection and yet still felt like they lacked chemistry. Maybe it was due to Crays nature? I’m not sure. All in all, who can say no to a mafia princess falling in love with a troubled brit.

I liked this book way more than the first. It was more intense and the characters were much less irritating. I have a soft spot for Creighton…. It’s always the quiet ones that surprise you. This spice in this book is pretty hardcore but in a good way. Rina Kent does an amazing job of giving you a taste of the surrounding characters and parts of their stories throughout the main one.  If the rest of the series is anything like this one…then damn I’m in trouble 😝☠️🔥

It's always the quiet ones. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't that. I had to pick my jaw up off the ground a few times.

Honestly. Seriously. This was... awful. Creighton King is literally the absolute WORSTTTTT. You can't try to cover someone who is blatantly abusive and controlling as a Dom or as some sort of kink. He literally had no redeeming qualities. I'm so annoyed cause I was looking forward to Annika and Creighton's story, but I literally just got the Ick (and I NEVER use that term) the entire time. I feel like in the end Rina used Adrian's point of view to "redeem" him or get us to like him. Didn't work. I Still hated him. His Lordship Remington Asher honestly saved this book for me. Which is saying something cause he is the biggest douchebag there is hahaha.
