but of course, fern has to sell him at six months. to her uncle. later on he makes a friend. a spider named charlotte. they have great times together with the other farm animals until wilbur find out that Mr. Arable (ferns dad) and Uncle Zuckerman want to kill him during winter. BUT WAIT! charlotte’s got ya covered.
i swear the saddest part in this book is

Was a great classic but seemed like some info was unnecessary but was such a cute book. Still can’t believe this was the first time i ever read this! Loved charlotte and wildurs friendship!

It amazes me how Mr. White was able to create a book that is neither purely for children or adults. The vocabulary is far advance for some children but I like that Mr. White chose to write this way. Advance words and lengthy descriptions and conversations push adults to help children understand the story's events and expand their vocabulary. When I was younger I always loved learning new words and ideas so my mom bought me this book. I have kept it all these years through many moves. My perspective changes everytime I read this book. My first time reading I realized how Mr. White showed all the different types of people we will all run into in our lives. There is the nice, naïve person who tends to whine (Wilbur). The smart, caring, loyal to the end best friend (Charlotte). The selfish, conceited, slightly disgusting person no one really likes but have to deal with (Templeton). The good friend we rely on that we eventually split apart from (Fern). The clown that takes hardly anything seriously (Avery). And so many more that it is impossible to mention then all.
I love asking people their opinions on Charlotte's Web; there seem to be common ideas annoying the group's. Children will feel bad for Wilbur and his struggle to live and find friends. Young adults will think that Charlotte gets no recognition from a naïve young pig. Adults seem to think Wilbur complains too much, and that a loving friendship between two misfits is wonderful.
