I recall reading this book many years ago while listening to The Brady Kids soundtrack. What a special memory! This book is so charming and full of positive messages I find it difficult to believe it is a banned book. Strongly recommended for all ages.

I rate this a 3.5 love whites evocative detail just the plot was a bit boring.
Reread this for the first time as an adult. I was inspired to do so in part because of the Dustin Hoffman episode in The Simpsons (honestly wish there was a Dustin Hoffman audiobook out there.. just sayin'). I have also been wanting to revisit because Charlotte's Web was a favorite book of mine as a child.
I was a bit surprised how the entire story and all of its characters came back to me instantly. I noticed that I had the same emotional responses that I had as a child which was strange and beautiful. The ending had me bawling - Yes, because it has a really sweet message about friendship and advocating for others - but mostly because I just viscerally remember my full time working mother getting home late from work, making dinner, doing the dishes and then reading to me this very book (probably unimaginably tired and out of her mind).
5 stars for Wilbur's sweet disposition, Charlotte's friendship, Templeton's disordered eating, beautiful illustrations, little spider babies, and being seen as radiant by somebody.

The audio version, narrated by none other than E.B. White himself, is pure delight. A comfort in a tumultuous timeā¦
