Still so good.

I just finished reading this to my 4yo tonight. I don't think I've read it since I was Fern's age. What a classic. It's quite possible that everything I know about farms and spiders and buttermilk comes from reading this book.

"What the book is about is friendship on earth, affection and protection, adventure and miracle, life and death, trust and treachery, pleasure and pain, and the passing of time. As a piece of work it is just about perfect, and just about magical in the way it is done." —Eudora Welty

"High caprice on a farm, handled with wit and wisdom, that serves to put an imperfect world back into joint." —The New Yorker

Salutations and synonyms. I hope someday to have been a Charlotte to a dear friend, "she was brilliant, beautiful, and loyal to the end."

I know people love this book, so reading it for the first time (I think) as an adult, I have many different feelings. I recommend listening to it, especially with a full cast and narrated by Meryl Streep. Anyway, I spent two hours with my class dissecting this book so there is too much to write here.

This book was absolutely beautiful. I loved how it handled the topic of death so openly. It was done tastefully and realistically. From the characters to the plot, everything was superb! Highly recommend.

This is Audrey's rating. She was a great listener and is very excited about our book club meeting.

A childhood favorite! Was so fun to reread it!

Why must all the girl characters become vapid? Fern ignores Wilbur whose life she saved and chases Henry.
A classic but it needs a re-write of the silly humans. The animals are all quality characters though.
