What a gem. Sweet, funny, wonderfully written. What all kids books should be.

Is there a child in your life whom you'd like to see cry? Try reading them this book.

- Charlotte explaining a bridge to Wilbur "...just keep trotting back and forth across the bridge thinking there is something better on the other side"; loved the explanation, even though it was just a small part of the conversation discussing the rush-rush-rush of men

- Narrator's explanation of the rope swing in the barn was so vivid that I could almost feel like I was swinging on it

- Dr dorian's quote of "but i dont understand everything, and i don't intend to let it worry me" was great; I feel the same way, Dr. Dorian

Very wholesome, innocent book about friendship. Surprised that I had never read this before.
adventurous sad medium-paced

I know this is a kid's book, but I just read it again yesterday and I think it's the most beautiful story.

I read this as a child and loved it (and cried my eyes out) and most recently I read this in chapters to my little girl as her bed time story. It took us about a month and we both loved it!

- Even though it's a kid's book it was still good to read.
- I used to like the movie as a kid so it was great to read the book it was telling the story of.
- Liked the messages of life and death, language, and friendship in this book.
- Wilbur does not deserve Charlotte as a friend. Although, he's young, so he wouldn't appreciate her as well as he should've, but I felt like the friendship was very one-sided.
- Charlotte died with no one around. There was a line in the book at her death that was really sad and poignant for me.
- Loved that a couple of Charlotte's kids stayed with Wilbur in the end, because Wilbur loved their mum and they loved that sentiment.

The first book I read, it was so long ago the memory of reading it is fuzzy. I remember having to read it during 2nd or 3rd grade and then at the end of the year the class got to watch the movie. Good times, good times.

Best book ever. Duh and obvs.
