A beautiful collection of poems by Rossetti which includes some of her best-known works. Two teams are prevalent in this collection: love, including romantic love, familial love, and unrequited love; and the mortality of humans.
The majority of the poems read like a narrative and are easy to follow. The rhyme and rhythm, although varied, give many of the poems a certain fast-moving beat.

The fairy-tale like title poem of 2 sisters, one of whom is tempted by the goblin market and eats their food, and the other sister who risks the same to save her life is beautiful.
