2.5* I've really enjoyed Zaverelli's Boston Underworld series so was somewhat disappointed with this. Starts of great but it seemed to lose it's way and direction with a lot of inconsistencies. Given that we're told there are camera's covering every inch of the place she seems to get away with a lot. That just makes the H look incompetent Not a good look for a bad ass. Nor is the fact that he throws up after viewing a gruesome video....but he tortures people as a profession. We see the guts and gore of that close up but he gets queasy at the video?
This book is sooooo GOOD!!!! I can not express in words how good this story is. My heart is racing, and my fingers are shaking as I write this review. This is not my first time reading a book written by Ms. Zavarelli, and it's not going to be my last. Kingdom Fall is one of those books that keep you at the edge of your seat in nerve wrecking suspense and anticipation. This is a dark, twisted and unpredictable story, with a plot that sucks you in and demands your full attention.
I am doing my happy dance because this Kingdom Fall delivered an unforgettable story....its everything I want in a dark romance.

This was one of the best mafia books I’ve read in a long time! While it didn’t have super strong mafia themes to it, there was just enough.
Alessio and Natalia were SUCH a fun couple. Their chemistry was great and the TENSION! I love Natalia, I thought she might be a bit of a prude at first, but her character development was so good and honestly surprised me at times!
Natalia and Nino’s relationship has my heart squeezing!

In the beginning I thought it might be good as heroine didn’t seem to be doormat but my god it was so bad 🤮 I don’t like and enjoy it, as I was hoping for

Wow, I didn't expect to get so hooked on this book. I mean, I've heard good things about it before, but I really didn't expect to like it as much as I did.
Although I was not very convinced at first, I quite liked the relationship of the characters. It wasn't perfect, of course, they clearly had their issues and um…disagreements, to put it mildly. however, it is a great development that we can see in natalia and alessio and even in nino (more than anything, in these last two), both individually and between them.
Anyway, overall it's safe to say that I loved reading this like I haven't in some time, although I would have really liked to see more of them as a family.
