This is my second book by this author and I really enjoyed it. The straight forward way she world builds allows me to sink into the story head first from the get-go.

Haven’t read a mafia book in a while and really appreciated Alessio’s “not like other mafia guys” vibe.

Loved the Nino and all he brought to the story. Enjoyed the twists and really enjoyed that the heroine was not as naive as she seemed. Even though there was some big element of insta love-lust, what made them truly believable for me as a couple was that they were both willing to do whatever it took.

Excited to read the next story in this world from A Zavarelli.

"Alessio Scarcello is a dangerous man. If my gut didn’t already know it, my research was confirmation enough."

This brand new dark romance by [a:A Zavarelli|21479612|A Zavarelli|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png] kept me hooked right from the start! Everything starting from the plot, setting, characters and the constant shocking revealtions kept me at the edge of my seat and I just lost myself into the story, it totally consumed me! These characters would remain with me for long because I just can't seem to get them off my mind.

“You shouldn’t have been in here,” he says quietly. “Now, I’ll never be able to let you go.”

Alessio Scarcello was the "debt collector" for some kind of secret society called the Ruins. He was a Sovereign Son and had to perform his duty to the society, on top of that he had to provide for his son and raise him to survive in their world. For that he decides to hire a nanny but he didn't expect a beautiful mysterious woman, Natalia Cabrera to infiltrate his house, who seems to be hiding something from him. Will he be able to uncover her secrets or will she succeed in her motives before the truth comes out?

"He’s branded himself on me somehow, and I fear that I’ll never be able to cut him out. Even worse , I don’t think I want to."

Natalia's past was painful but I admired her spirit to remain strong for herself and fight all the challenges that life throws at her way. Alessio was closed off and too afraid to let himself get attached to someone ever again because of his past experiences but whenever he clashed with Natalia, his walls started to waver down and I just loved the gradual change in the dynamics between Nino & Alessio after Natalia came along. Their little family was just so adorable and they deserved to get their own HEA! A Zavarelli's stories never fail to leave an impact on me with their shocking and complicated storylines with a strong heroine and a majorly attractive hero and this one was so much more than I expected. I went into the story thinking that I could already predict what's going to happen next but the second half of the book totally left me astounded. It is a must read for the lovers of dark romance!

4.5!! So many emotions. I loved this. Definitely a roller coaster and I couldn’t put it down. It was all so unexpected and thrilling. Only reason I’m pulling of a half star is because from the start Natalie was too forgiving toward Alessio.

i’m writing this review a couple days after reading it and i had to quick skim a few paragraphs to remember what it was. i remember that it started off kinda slow and it was hard to get into at first. but once it got rolling i did enjoy it. it was a fine nanny book but nothing too memorable.
