Very entertaining book but something was missing in my opinion, I can’t really pinpoint what it is but it felt a little bit flat for my taste.
It’s my first book by this author and the reviews were glorious, I did enjoy my time but some scenes were predictable and slightly boring.
I loved the FMC and Alessio was an okay MC, they were great for each other but I expected a bit more in terms of romance, and thus especially because of their mutual attraction. I think that the relationship/ or at least the way things progressed between them went way too quickly IMO, around 29% they were already acting on this attraction but we didn’t really get much interaction between them prior to this.
The writing was okay, very fluid and easy, the pacing of the book was well exploited, especially for a standalone, I usually have issues with them because most of the time things happens too fast and the book is done or too slow and the ending is not great. This is one of the best pacing for a standalone that I’ve read so far.
I’m a sucker for pregnancy in books and books with children in general., Nino was really well written and I was happy reading scenes with him and Nathalia.

Wow! Was not expecting this book to be this good!
This book is an Underworld Kings book, but it is set in the IVI world, which is a secret organization called The Society.
Alessio is not only a member of The Society, but he is a Sovereign Son (like nobility) within the organization. His job is the Debt Collector for them and it requires him to turn away from his humanity. He is cold and calculating, focused only on his job. Because of his past, he is not interested in any relationships or marriage. He has a son who he can’t connect with emotionally, but wants to give him the world.
Natalia is needing a new job and she applies to be Alessio's son's nanny. We quickly see that there is more to her tortured past and that she is plotting for revenge. She is mute and scarred, adding to her mystery. However– she is strong and fierce and Alessio is very intrigued by her.
This book shook me. It was deeply emotional, more than I was expecting. It was heavy at times. I was hooked from the beginning and the added mystery was heart-pounding. There were many twists and plot turns. I was genuinely surprised by some of the developments. I absolutely loved Alessio and Natalia’s romance. You can’t help but ache for Alesso. He is tortured with his feelings for Natalia–even though he vowed not to get involved. The back and forth of his indecision built the tension between them; then add in the thrilling secrets, you have such an amazing read.
The pacing of the book was on point for this book and the way the author gives us our tidbits of information throughout the book then brings it all together in the end was well done. I want to reread this again very soon–I honestly think a reread will bring my rating up. I can’t stop thinking about this book!

A very enjoyable book for me. I really liked Nino the MMC's son he was so cute and sweet. I will say I guessed part of the plot twist early on in the book but honestly, it wasn't that hard to guess. The plot was compelling and the heroine was interesting to read about. The H isn't that memorable to me but I wouldn't say that I don't like him.

I honestly couldn’t stomach finishing this book. Basically (Spoiler alert) the mc wants to nanny for this kid, the reason being (TW) the child is hers and he was received by rape. The father who isn’t really the father doesn’t know this. She even tried to kill him once. The whole book is really dark in my opinion and I just couldn’t finish it.
I loved this book, but i also really disliked it at times so I have no idea what to rate it. Torn between 3-5 stars!
Warning ⚠️ I won’t include any plot spoilers, but there will be safety spoilers in this review so beware if you want an element of surprise in that respect.
I loved the h, she absolutely broke my heart and I just truly loved how strong she was. Everything she went through, and she still had the courage to keep going and keep loving just tugged on my heartstrings! You know when you’re reading a book and you can feel your chest tightening from certain scenes? That’s how I know a book is good, when it actually gets me to physically feel something.
Now, the reason I don’t want to go with a full 5 stars is the Hero. I wanted to love him so bad, and in some ways I did. However, there are just some things that he did(and didn’t do) that just didn’t sit well with me. I liked how he eventually got his revenge for the h, but I hated how long it took him. I want my H’s to immediately believe the h, no matter what. And the way the H reacted and all the things he did when he found out the h’s secrets just really made me upset with him. I don’t feel like he groveled at all when it was desperately needed, which makes me sad bc I love this author and obviously know that she can seriously write the shit out of anything. Like she’s amazing, so I guess I kind of was holding this H to a higher standard than I typically would. The H pushed the h away for the whole book, literally until the end and I just think he needed to do some SERIOUS groveling. I also didn’t appreciate his going to a prostitute looking for a hand job in the beginning to try to forget the h. He stopped as soon as she touched him once, but I didn’t forget that scene the whole book and maybe that’s another reason I wanted the H to grovel more. I understand that the scene was meant to show that he only wants the h, but it just turned me off that he even thought to do that. ESPECIALLY because he was a virgin. Whyyyyy did we need to know that he goes to prostitutes for hand jobs once a month? Like I love me a virgin hero, but the specialness of the h being the only girl he’s truly been with was ruined by the scene of him going to that girl, even if he stopped it after she touched him.
Ranting aside, I really did love this book because it truly made me emotional, but I just wanted and expected more from the H

4.5!! So many emotions. I loved this. Definitely a roller coaster and I couldn’t put it down. It was all so unexpected and thrilling. Only reason I’m pulling of a half star is because from the start Natalie was too forgiving toward Alessio.
