Well drawn and full of plot twists. The ridiculously large cast of characters was appealing at first, but cycled through too quickly to feel satisfying. Each new villain/ally got a few pages and then disappeared again before it felt they'd been used fully. The result was a confusing tease, and I ended the story with the feeling of failed potential. The seeds of a great story were here, but needed a bit more nurturing to take root. Batman's internal brooding was powerful and moving in some places, but used as a crutch to provide exposition in others, weakening the effect.

This was great! Even better than the first one, and so close to getting a full five stars. So many Batman characters in this volume, I loved seeing them all! This was definitely an awesome story arc, and I can see why it has all the praise it does. I highly recommend this to any Batman fan if you haven't read it already!! Also I did get my batboys featured, so my request from the last volume was fulfilled (-;

All the art was so polished in here that I almost didn't like it. It loses so much of it's emotion and feeling that way. If this graphic novel was made with the sketches I feel like it'd be more engaging.
As far as story/plot, it was only slightly interesting to me. The characters are very nice, though. I've always really loved the darker side that Batman characters always take, personality wise. They're always dark and doomed and serious, and...I like it. :p

One of the best Batman's adventure ever.

Absolutely brilliant

this is a good time. new villain, and tons of old ones... And somehow, that tends to make for the best Batman stories. pretty satisfying throughout, and there was a great action figure tie-in with this, specifically Superman with the vine creeping up his neck. But this is about the books! So just read it, and have fun.

The big reveal was spoiled to me years ago but I still had a lot of fun (finally) reading this. The mystery was complex and nuanced and I loved how grand in scope it was. A really exciting read!
