I was so so excited to read this after seeing the snippets shared by the author on tiktok.. it seems she shared the best lines bc for me, it fell so flat. personally, this felt like a drag the first 90% and random plot thrown into the very end for a twist, that is wrapped up and solved in like 10 pages. this would be a great dark romance (per say) for beginners or someone looking to dip their toes in, but not for someone well versed in dark romance

I had high hopes for this one …. But it flopped

The pacing was all over the place, and I couldn’t tell if days or weeks had passed between scenes. The sex scenes were decent, if choreographed a little confusingly, but the final quarter of the book was a hard push for me. The integration of kink was, in my opinion, a little messy - too much was trying to happen at the same time.
Overall, I appreciated the premise of the story and was looking forward to the trope, but would have appreciated stronger writing for the plot around the copious (not a complaint!) smut, more buildup, and less telling more showing.

Someone please forgive my brain...come one...I hoped for a second "Priest" that was...I can't even say what that is....

Shame, had high hope for this one. Started so good but later, I’m no longer invested. First of all I really hate Eden. I don’t know why but the way she acted and talked really annoyed me.

Forgive me father

FMC - Eden. She was definitely far sassier than I thought she’d be. Had me laughing out loud.

MC - Roman. Love a bloodlusty priest. Makes me want to go to church.

End of chapter four - verbatim from my mouth.
‘Holy fucking shit, this book is going to kill me’

The desire was quick to occur but the characters are older and the trauma belies traditional relationship ‘foreplay’.

The air is constantly buzzing with desire and for me it was so well written I was biting my lip and gasping a few times.

The heavier themes drag you back to reality and boy are they heavy. Check your trigger warnings readers.

Aidan’s storyline is gutting and well written.

The book started to lose traction about half way through.
The bonfire scene was… I pretended she’d known Luca longer than 20 minutes and it wasn’t so strange.

Not abiding by her safe word was gross after begging her to choose one.

The ending was a suspension of belief but it wasn’t bad. I needed way more from the epilogue though.

Not sure about the AI art throughout either. It changed all the way through and was confusing. I’m big on imagination so having the characters projected constantly was off putting for me.

Overall it was a good read. Some great spice and twists. But some storylines are confusing.

Have you ever fantasized about Sierra Simone writing a book where Father Bell goes DARK.....Well, Katerina St Clair said, "Hold my wine glass and watch me work." Meet Father Briar. Forgive Me Father is sin incarnate. I wanted to simultaneously blow through this book and savor it slowly.
