Of course Gordo and Mark would be my favorite couple in this series, I'm such a sucker for Yearning in romance books and these two are Olympic gold medalists. I liked that this book acknowledged that hey, Gordo was and is completely justified in his anger and that it was fucked up what Thomas did to him. I liked the themes of what forgiveness of others can mean for your own personal journey, even if you're not fully letting it go. And I think this book moves the overarching plot along really well while letting Gordo and Mark have their time in the limelight. Elijah was such a good villain and the stakes were really high.

A good continuation. I did not love the voice actor but I also read the first book and didn’t listen to it, so that may be part of the problem. Probably gonna read the rest rather than listen. I want Carter’s book soooo bad but imma read them in order I guesssssss. Love the authors ability to add comic relief and puns in these trying times for the characters lol

GRITTY, action-packed, and romantic. A second chance love story full of grief and healing. Gordo, angry and stubborn, needed a lot of healing and patience to reconcile with Mark and the pack. The pace was slow going, but the story continued to move forward through time jumps through Gordo’s childhood where we see what caused the rift between Gordo and the Bennett pack as we contend with the present threat the Bennett pack faces. Team human steadily provided levity and comedy through it all. 🖤

Io adoro lo stile particolare di Klune e come qui abbia, secondo me, narrato in due metà (senza spezzare la storia, anzi si intrecciano molto bene): la prima è più concentrata sulla storia d’amore, complicata, sofferta, pura e vera, di Gordo e Mark; la seconda sul proseguimento della trama e sull’azione avvincente che ne deriva, uno dei punti che rende la storia incredibilmente scorrevole. Altro punto che mi ha fatto emozionare è stato proprio Gordo come protagonista, perché già da subito era uno dei miei personaggi preferiti e ho adorato vedere il suo punto di vista e i suoi retroscena, è stato praticamente conoscerlo più a fondo e sentirlo vicino e immedesimabile come Ox.
